“Changed Market Perception” – It’s Seller Market rather than Buyer Market

During this Lockdown-2020, our administration and government bodies are trying to ensure supply of basic necessity utilities (Vegetables/Grocery /Milk & Medicines) and specially in our city, Indore, Municipal Corporation has taken remarkable initiatives.

Somehow I am managing to get not only basic essential things but also luxury lifestyle or desired things(Seasonal Fruits/Bakery Products/Sweets /Liquor as well).

During this hunt of desire material as a Management Professional, I learned one Lesson – due to this COVID-19 lock-down, the trend of Market has changed, the Sellers are again “the King” and have proven their dominancy while supplying these desired stuff.

You as a Buyer don’t have any scope of Negotiation neither in terms of price nor in quantity.

Surprised to see the number of Sellers popped up in the market these days, “every one wants to make profit in this Critical market situation”.

Family members of Business Owners are now New Entrepreneurs involved in maximization of Profit of Sales!

Example 1- I asked one seller to give me 1 KG Oranges, he refused. Straight forwardly said, packet is of 2 KG, so either buy or leave (prices of Oranges were 150/- Per KG).

Example-2 I called another Seller of liquor to give me one bottle of Whiskey, (normal shop price 2800/-). At first, he asked me about my address and then replied plainly, “Distance to deliver is more than 5 KM from my place so you need to buy either 3 bottles or pay me 150/- as delivery charges and delivery can be done after 10.00 PM(Charge of 1 Bottle will be 4000/-)

Seeing this current Market trend & demand forecasting,

“I wish, instead of Investing in Mutual Funds I would have invested in Liquor to Stock for this Lockdown Period”
